reading takes 3 min

Spring is a time of renewal and growth, and in that spirit, we have launched our Spring 2021 Community Giving grant cycle. Interested Maine nonprofits can apply now through March 8, 2021.

The current Spring 2021 grant cycle targets nonprofit programs and organizations working to promote wellness and community health. Preference will be given to nonprofits helping to treat and manage asthma, coronary artery disease (CAD), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), depression, diabetes, hypertension, and substance use disorder and to helping Maine people living with these conditions to be their best selves – mentally, physically, and emotionally.

“According to the Maine CDC, heart disease, chronic lower respiratory disease and diabetes are among the leading causes of death in our state, and depression is a common comorbidity.[1] Additionally, opiate overdoses continue to contribute to a staggering loss of life throughout the state,” said Kevin Lewis, president and CEO.We are a Maine-based health insurance provider with a vision to transform and improve individual and community health. Helping to manage these health issues is a top priority for us, and we are committed to working with nonprofits that share our vision and can address some of the greatest health threats to Maine people.”

If you are involved with a nonprofit or know of local organizations that could benefit from some Spring growth in funding, please help spread the word. Learn more at the Community Giving section of our website and apply here by March 8, 2021. Recipients will be notified during the week in April 2021.

Health Options requires small groups with 20 or more enrolled to submit a completed Renewal Verification Form prior to receiving a renewal quote. This will provide the up-to-date information we need to determine the appropriate rating method and market segment for the group. We also need your help to ensure that this important paperwork is completed.

A Business Development Account Manager will send you a Renewal Verification Form 90 days prior to a group’s renewal date. We ask that you work with the client to fill out the form and return it within 10 days of receipt. It can be emailed to renewal@healthoptions.org or faxed to the attention of Business Development-Renewals at (207) 402-3745.
