Community Health Options Strengthens Executive Team: Appoints Chief Medical and Operating Officers

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine, April 23, 2026 - Community Health Options has appointed new chief medical and chief operating officers, adding clinical and value-based risk management leadership as the company works to enable access to preventive care and cost-effective treatment for the people of Maine. 

  • Dr. Christine Seals has joined as the company's chief medical officer, responsible for overseeing all of the company's clinical strategies and medical management initiatives.
  • Daniel Teague has joined as the company's chief operating officer, responsible for operational and strategic initiatives. 

Both executives report to President and CEO Kevin Lewis.

Seals brings broad experience across hospital-based care delivery, payer operations and complex integrated care models. She most recently served as CMO for the Denver Health Medical Plan, where she oversaw clinical programs across multiple lines of business, including self-insured, Exchange and large group commercial business, with a strong focus on quality performance, regulatory compliance and accredited standards. Earlier, she was CMO for the Morrow County Health District and has served as a medical director for home health and hospice. Seals champions whole-person care, emphasizing the integration of behavioral health into medical settings and aligning clinical practice with high-quality, value-based outcomes. She began her career in family medicine, giving her a perspective grounded in frontline clinical experience. Her appointment was effective March 23.

Teague brings broad expertise including clinical and general operations, customer service, network management, claims, risk adjustment, encounter data, financial analytics and supporting technologies--helping to reduce administrative burdens while facilitating value-based care and better health outcomes. He joins Community Health Options from SOMOS Innovation, where he held several roles, most recently as its COO. He was previously senior vice president/executive director of operations and an operations consultant. Earlier, he was a senior vice president of operations at Commonwealth Care Alliance in Massachusetts and held several operational roles at BMC HealthNet Plan/WellSense Health Plan in Boston. He joined the company in January.
